Have you ever seen those cool tiny houses and dreamed of living a simple life, completely off-the-grid and free from the clutter of stuff we seem to accumulate in life? Carmel Lavender would like to invite you to stay in our Tiny House here on the farm. This is a totally unique opportunity to experience living light and completely off-the-grid on a working lavender farm.
The Tiny House at Carmel Lavender
At the Carmel Lavender Tiny House, you can relax and unplug. Small doesn’t mean you can’t live in style. The tiny house is a 400 sf 1 bedroom home with all the features you’d expect in a larger house. There is a living room, a master bedroom with queen bed, a full kitchen, a full bath with shower, and a dining nook. There is even a sleeping loft with two additional twin beds above the kitchen. Everything you need to enjoy off-grid living at its finest.
David, one of our valued guests had this to say: The house is wonderful and the setting superb. It was hard to leave in the morning.
This house is totally unplugged! But unplugging doesn’t mean going without. You can still plug in your favorite appliance. Electricity is supplied by 2000 watts of solar panels generating free electricity from the sun. But when the sun goes down, don’t worry, 20,000 watts of battery continue to supply electricity for all your needs all night long. Water too comes right from the land. It is supplied by private well 550 feet beneath the surface of Carmel Lavender’s fields. And gas for forced air heating and cooking are supplied by propane. If you ever wondered how comfortable living off-the-grid can be, then this is an experience that you shouldn’t miss. If you’re thinking about going off-grid, we can give you a tour of how everything works while you are here.
Dasom, one of our valued guests had this to say: This is a great experience for anyone looking for a remote place surrounded by beautiful scenery.
You will have access to about 10 acres of private gated countryside. There is a picnic table along side of one field for outdoor dining enjoyment. You can walk down to James Creek, the seasonal stream that runs through the property. There you can enjoy view of the creek and creekside apiary.
Vanessa, one of our valued guests had this to say: Every single one of us just fell in love with John’s tiny house and overall location. You’re surrounded by the smell of lavender, theres a hammock, a swing and more things to explore. The experience, location, and overall stay was smooth and unforgettable for us. We definitely plan to come back!!

But don’t just take our word for it. Honey, one of our valued guests, had this to say: My girlfriends and I had such an amazing getaway at Carmel Lavender. The tiny house was tucked away in the mountains of Carmel Valley surrounded by fields and fields of lavender. During our stay we were able to take advantage of the first lavender harvest of the season and were able to tour the farm and distillery. We enjoyed lavender tea, scones, and pound cake and were able to pick bouquets of lavender to bring back home. John and his wife Yoko were such amazing hosts! At night we were able to star gaze and see the Milky Way and enjoy the beauty of Carmel with no distractions, we were truly disconnected and it was great. We will definitely come back, and recommend this place for the perfect getaway.
